ATLANTA — The Coca-Cola Company has named Rob Gehring as president of its North America operating unit, effective Dec. 1.
Gehring will succeed John Murphy, who has been leading the North America operating unit on an interim basis since Aug. 1 while continuing to serve as Coca-Cola’s president and chief financial officer.
Gehring returns to Coca-Cola after spending the past several years in leadership roles at Monster Energy Company, where he most recently served as CEO of the Americas. In that role, he oversaw operations across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Gehring’s history with Coca-Cola dates back more than three decades.
He began his career in the Coca-Cola system in 1992, working in sales and marketing roles across the United States and Canada. From 2011 to 2016, he served as president of the Coca-Cola Walmart global team before moving to The Hershey Company as global chief sales officer.
In 2018, Gehring became president and CEO of Swire Coca-Cola USA, where he led bottling operations across 17 states and more than 8,000 employees. He joined Monster Energy in 2024 as chief growth officer before being promoted to CEO of the Americas in 2026.
Gehring, who holds a degree from Arizona State University, will now oversee Coca-Cola’s largest operating unit as the Atlanta-based beverage giant continues its growth strategy across North America.
