BAINBRIDGE, Ga. — Six people will spend the next several decades in prison after a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in 2022.
K’Darius Smart, 16, was shot and killed in Bainbridge, WALB reported.
Now, prosecutors say six people have been found guilty of participating in his killing.

LaDarrius Campbell, Zaquan Durant and Greg Turner were convicted of voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault.
The other three, Terrance Anderson, Cameron Bell and Henry Knight were convicted as parties to a crime and aggravated assault.
According to court records obtained by WALB, the group of men primarily live in Tallahassee, Florida and drove to south Georgia to fight Smart. The fight escalated to gunfire and Smart was killed.

“The senseless gun violence on the streets needs to end. By the time it comes to Court, there is little for us to do but incarcerate those that did it to prevent any further shootings. My thoughts and prayers are with the Smart and Flagler family, and hope this outcome can given them some closure,” District Attorney Joe Mulholland said.
All six men were sentenced to 40 years in prison.
