GREENVILLE, Ga. — A 58-year-old Greenville man was arrested last Friday on multiple child sex offense charges following an investigation by state and local law enforcement.
William Irving Nash was taken into custody on Sept. 25 and booked into the Meriwether County Jail, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the GBI on Aug. 18 to investigate a child molestation case involving Nash. The multi-week inquiry led to his arrest in Meriwether County.
Nash faces 10 criminal charges in connection with the case. The charges against him include one count of aggravated child molestation, six counts of child molestation, one count of criminal attempt to commit rape, one count of criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation and one count of criminal attempt to commit child molestation.
The GBI stated that the investigation is active and ongoing. Authorities encourage anyone with information related to the case to contact the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Columbus at (706) 565-7888.

Anonymous tips may also be submitted by calling 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), visiting the agency’s official website or submitting information through the See Something, Send Something mobile application. Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jessica Sales is overseeing media inquiries for the agency.
Upon completion of the investigation, the GBI will transfer the case to the Coweta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
