DNR game wardens were notified of the crash around 11 a.m. Saturday.

When wardens arrived, they learned the speedboat had struck the shore, ejecting all five people on board.

All five occupants were taken by ambulance to Kennestone Hospital in Cobb County with various serious injuries, DNR said.

The Georgia DNR later recovered the wrecked speedboat from the lake.

The crash remains under investigation by the DNR Law Enforcement Critical Incident Reconstruction Team.

DNR officials said additional information is expected once the investigation is completed, which could take several weeks.
