2-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in head in northwest Atlanta, police say

ATLANTA — Atlanta police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that a 2-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in northwest Atlanta.

The shooting happened Saturday morning around 10:10 a.m off Delray Street. Police said the 2-year-old boy was shot in the head and it appeared to be self-inflicted.

The boy has been taken to the hospital in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

This is the second accidentally shooting of a child in Atlanta in recent weeks. A 3-year-old boy died in southwest Atlanta after he accidentally shot himself in the head.
