2 Powerball tickets worth $1 million sold in Georgia in Wednesday’s drawing

ATLANTA — Two lucky winners in Georgia are waking up millionaires on Thursday.

No one took home the $1.2 billion Powerball jackpot, but two tickets sold in Georgia matched all five numbers. Those tickets are worth $1 million.

The two tickets were sold at a Publix and on the Georgia Lottery app.

The numbers were 2, 11, 22, 35 and 60 and the red Powerball was 23 for Wednesday night’s drawing shown live on Channel 2.

While the prizes aren’t as high, 10 tickets sold in Georgia matched four of five numbers and the Powerball. Two of those tickets had a Power Play to win $100,000. The other eight tickets won the usual $50,000 prize.

The overall Powerball jackpot rose to $1.5 billion with no winners on Wednesday. The new total is just shy of the all-time lottery record of $1.58 billion. You can watch the next drawing Saturday on Channel 2.

How do you claim winning lottery tickets in Georgia?

Georgia Lottery says any prizes less than $600 can be claimed at any of its retailers; however, prizes over $600 must be claimed at the lottery headquarters or district offices or mailed for the payment.

Winners of prizes more than $600 must fill out a winner claim form and have a valid government issued photo ID with a social security card.

In Georgia, winners who purchased their tickets online have 180 days to claim their prize. For winners who buy instant tickets, they only have 90 days from the expired date to claim their prize.
