COLUMBUS, Ga. — A Georgia hospital’s emergency department is experiencing a baby boom of its own.

Eleven registered nurses at Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside Emergency Department are expecting babies, bringing a little extra excitement to one of the hospital’s busiest teams.
The hospital says two babies have already been born, while nine more are expected in the coming months.

The close-knit team has been supporting one another as they balance preparing for their growing families with providing around-the-clock emergency care to the community.
The nurses have been comparing baby names, planning nurseries and getting ready for the next chapter, together.
The team recently celebrated the baby boom with a combined baby shower at the hospital.
