TIFT COUNTY, Ga. — An investigation that began with a burning vehicle along a rural road has led to the arrest of two people and warrants for a third suspect, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI said Robert Louis Brown, 41, and Aiyah Foster, 25, both of Tifton, have been charged in connection with the death of Josh Gillis, 36, of Tifton.
Investigators have also obtained warrants for Derrick Lamar Britt Jr., 33, of Tifton. Authorities said Britt remains at large and is not in custody.
Tift County deputies were called to the intersection of Arnold Road and Branch Road on July 24 after reports of a vehicle on fire. When deputies arrived, they found Gillis dead with apparent gunshot wounds, according to investigators.
Gillis’ body was taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. His death was later ruled a homicide.
Brown faces charges including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit a crime, second-degree arson, improper disposal of human remains, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and tampering with evidence.
Foster is charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, tampering with evidence, improper disposal of human remains and second-degree arson.

According to the GBI, Brown was already being held in the Tift County Jail on unrelated charges. Foster was arrested Aug. 6 and booked into the Tift County Jail.
Britt is wanted on charges including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit a crime, second-degree arson, improper disposal of human remains, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and tampering with evidence.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
