Lumpkin County deputies need help finding 50-year-old man who disappeared

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — Lumpkin County deputies are asking the public to help them find a man who was last seen on Sunday.

Deputies do say Tony Lamar Cates, 50, called a co-worker early the next morning and was reportedly in good shape. A short time after that call, they say his truck was found around 5:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Mill Creek Baptist Church with nobody in it.

The only description deputies had of Cates is that of a 50-year-old male with a beard that appeared to have been recently grown. The did not say if he might be in any danger.
