ALBANY, Ga. — The family of a 4-year-old boy who died after falling into a Georgia river during a fishing trip has started a GoFundMe page to cover the cost of his funeral.
Family members told officials that Daniel Kennedy James Cunningham was fishing in the Flint River on Sunday, Dec. 11 at around 2:41 p.m., when he fell into the water.

Albany police and firefighters searched the river for the child and found him at around 5 p.m.
WALB-TV reported that Daniel’s body was found three miles from where the family had been fishing.
The station reported that Daniel’s father jumped into the river and attempted to save his son before first responders arrived.

Daniel’s family is attempting to raise $5,000 to cover his funeral costs.
As of Monday at 12:30 p.m., more than $3,600 has been raised.
