ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga.,None — Rockdale County officials have confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that two students were killed in a car accident.
The crash claimed the lives of the driver, Karl Michael Anschutz, an 18-year-old Heritage High School senior; and his eighth-grade sister, 13-year-old Laura Anschutz.

According to officials, Karl was driving Laura to Davis Middle School at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday when he lost control of his vehicle, over-corrected and crossed into the path of an oncoming pickup truck along McDaniel Mill Road.
Officials said both students died at the crash site.
The driver of the pickup truck was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center and later released.
