Freeze warning for several counties in north Georgia Tuesday morning

ATLANTA — A Freeze Warning is in affect in the mountains until 10 a.m. Tuesday and we will all feel those fall temperatures this morning.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan said we are starting off the morning with temperatures in the 30s and 40s, along with a few winds.

As we go through the day, there will be mostly sunny skies with winds and chills. By lunch time, temperatures will be in the upper 40s and low 50s.

The highs for today will reach mid 50s before cooling down, again, for the night.

Temperatures will drop tonight and all of north Georgia will be under a Freeze Warning beginning Wednesday at midnight until 10 a.m.

Things to know:

  • Freeze Warning is in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday
  • We’ll be near the record low Wednesday morning (35° in 1976) and Thursday morning (34° in 1989)
  • The last time we were in the 30s in Atlanta was April 10th.
  • You might want to bring your plants inside.
  • Freeze Warning in effect again for Wednesday from midnight until 10 a.m.
