‘I am now happy with who I am:’ Former Atlanta Hawks player announces he’s gay

MELBOURNE — Isaac Humphries, a former Atlanta Hawk and a current professional basketball player in Australia, came out as gay, on Tuesday.

Humphries posted a video on social media on Tuesday, announcing the news to his Melbourne United teammates.

“I believe it is definitely time to make a change and set an example to the next generation that they can be anything they want while still being true to themselves,” Humphries said in the video. “I want to demonstrate that you can be a professional athlete, you can be anything you want, and still be gay.”
