Braves announce roster for NLCS vs. Dodgers; Anderson to start Game 2

ATLANTA — Just hours before the first pitch of the 2021 National League Championship Series, we now know who will be taking the field or in the dugout for the Atlanta Braves.

Channel 2 Action News will have complete coverage of the Braves in the playoffs. Follow Sports Director Zach Klein and Sports Anchor Alison Mastrangelo for the latest Braves news and information.

The Braves decided to tweak a few spots on the roster, going with 12 pitchers and 14 position players. Two players from the Divisional Series roster did not move forward. Rookie pitcher Dylan Lee and outfielder Terrance Gore were not added this time.

Reliever Chris Martin returns after sitting out the NLDS. Martin, who has been one of the teams most reliable pitchers the past few seasons struggled in 2021. The hope is a few days off to rest and stretch out will do him well.

The Braves also brought up Johan Camargo. Camargo has been in the playoffs before and had a very good season in Gwinnett. He can also play almost any position on the field.

Outfielder Christian Pache will remain on the roster in place of Jorge Soler who remains on the COVID-19 reserve list. The Braves are hoping Soler will be able to return at some point during this series.

Game 1 is Saturday night at Truist Park with first pitch at 8:07 p.m.

The Braves also announced who will start Game 2 on Sunday. Ian Anderson will take the mound, which would set up Charlie Morton to start Game 3 in Los Angeles.
