Former UGA stars Aaron Murray, Thomas Davis join WSB-TV Bulldogs GameDay

Georgia football is finally back this week! Channel 2′s Bulldogs GameDay is your home for the latest in the world of UGA athletics.

Every Saturday at 11 a.m., Channel 2 sports director Zack Klein, Alison Mastrangelo and Heather Catlin will break down the week’s opponents and have interviews with head coach Kirby Smart.

This season, Bulldogs GameDay will welcome two new analysts and the names will be familiar to Dawg fans.

Former quarterback Aaron Murray and former linebacker Thomas Davis Jr. will join the show every week to offer their expertise and insight to what UGA game day feels like.

Davis played for Coach Mark Richt at UGA from 2002 to 2004. During his junior season, the Georgia native was recognized as a first-team All-SEC selection and a consensus first-team All-American. In 39 career games, he recorded 272 tackles, 18 for a loss, 10.5 sacks, three interceptions, six forced fumbles, and nine fumble recoveries.

Davis played for 16 seasons in the NFL with the Panthers, Chargers and Washington Football Team. He earned 3 Pro Bowl selections and was named the Walton Payton Man of the Year in 2014.

Murray played under center for UGA from 2010 until 2013. During his time in Athens, Murray set several SEC records. He is stillthe SEC’s all-time leader in career passing touchdowns (121), completions (921) and passing yards (13,166). He was the first SEC quarterback to pass for 3,000 yards per year in four seasons.

Murray earned All-SEC Honors and led the Bulldogs to SEC East Divison title in 2011 and 2012.
