Tennessee man accused of killing 2-day-old girl and her mother, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tennessee man is accused of killing a 2-day-old child and the infant’s mother, authorities said Wednesday.

According to the Memphis Police Department, Brandon Isabelle, 25, fatally shot Danielle Hoyle, 27, WHBQ-TV reported. Police were still searching for Kennedy Hoyle, the child of Isabelle and Danielle Hoyle, but stated in a tweet that evidence suggests the infant is dead.

Isabelle has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, murder in the perpetration of aggravated kidnapping and tampering/fabricating with evidence in connection to the deaths of Danielle Hoyle and Kennedy Hoyle, police said.

Family members said the infant’s car seat was found abandoned at a Walmart in the Whitehaven neighborhood of Memphis, WHBQ reported.

Police said law enforcement officers were searching the Mud Island area of Memphis along the Mississippi River, according to The Associated Press.

Police said that they found Danielle Hoyle’s car at around 11 p.m. CST Tuesday, according to WHBQ. Isabelle was identified as a suspect and brought in for questioning, police said. Danielle Hoyle’s body was found near the car with a gunshot wound to her head, the television station reported.

According to police, Isabelle confessed to fatally shooting the woman. In an affidavit, he also confessed to taking Kennedy Hoyle and tossing the child into the river.

Police stated that Isabelle tossed the gun used to kill Danielle Hoyle into the Mississippi River, WHBQ reported.
