According to WSOC-TV, Johnny Holloway was working Saturday at Mezzaluna Brick Oven and Tap House in Hendersonville when he and a customer discovered that they both had graduated from Atlanta’s Morehouse College. The pair also had something else in common: They both had jobs in the restaurant industry, the news outlet reported.

After the patron left, Holloway saw the receipt and realized that the man had left him a $1,000 tip, WSOC reported.

“It was amazing,” Holloway said, adding that he was – and still is – in shock.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw the $1,000 tip,” he continued. “I’ve never gotten anything like that before.”

According to WSOC, Holloway said he will save most of the money.

After learning of the news, Mezzaluna congratulated Holloway in a Facebook post, which included a photo of the receipt.

“Congrats our fabulous server, Johnny Holloway!” the post read. “Thanks, Johnny, for your excellent service. Merry Christmas!”
