Man who stole Amazon truck leads police on chase through multiple New Hampshire towns

CONCORD, N.H. — A shipment of Amazon packages ended with a booking Sunday afternoon.

Officers have arrested a man who led them on a car chase through multiple towns after stealing an Amazon delivery truck, according to WFXT-TV.

Richard Royea, 40, stole an Amazon delivery truck Sunday afternoon while it was making deliveries in Concord. Police said they tracked the van by cellphone and attempted to stop the truck while it was on Interstate 93 near the town of Hooksett.

According to WFXT, the pursuit continued south to Manchester after Royea refused to stop the package-loaded van.

Police said that Royea eventually drove the truck down a dead-end street and abandoned it. State police deployed its K-9, Ragnar, who was able to take Royea down.

Royea was taken to Concord Hospital for minor injuries. A trooper was also admitted to the hospital for minor injuries.

Royea, who has no listed address, is facing a litany of charges, including receiving stolen property, resisting arrest/detention, aggravated driving while intoxicated, disobeying a police officer, reckless operation and operating without a license.
