ATLANTA — Periods of heavy rain will bring the risk for localized flooding this weekend.
Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking widespread rain for the weekend. Meteorologist Brian Monahan says rain chances will start inching up Friday with a chance for isolated storms.
Saturday starts off on the drier side before the heaviest rain moves in later Saturday night into Sunday.

Widespread rainfall totals of 1-2 inches are likely, but locally higher amounts of 4 inches or more could bring localized flooding to our area.
Showers move out Monday morning.
While the month starts off wet, October is typically the driest month of the year on average in Atlanta.
