ATLANTA - Construction on the Whetstone Wetland Greenspace Project is set to begin at 2399 Bolton Rd. NW between Barnett Drive and Marietta Blvd.
The city said work is scheduled from Monday, Sept. 28 through Monday, March 8, 2027, weather permitting, with crews working Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the city, the project will include clearing and grading, tree removal, drainage improvements, permeable aggregate trails, stone overlooks, landscaping, bike racks and trash receptacles.
The city said full road closures are not planned, but crews may put in a temporary lane closure as needed with flaggers directing traffic.

Pedestrian access inside the active park construction zone will be limited, according to the city. The city also said traffic control measures and signs will guide drivers around the work zone.
Residents will keep access to their properties and nearby businesses, schools and places of worship will stay accessible during construction, the city said.
The city said on-street parking in the work area may be temporarily unavailable during active construction, but mail and package deliveries, trash collection and emergency services will continue on schedule.
Construction is scheduled to continue through March 8, 2027, weather permitting.
