Atlanta resident and restaurant operator Abid Khutliwala is leading the expansion into Georgia. Khutliwala immigrated to Georgia in 2000 and owns franchises in multiple brands, included Popeyes, which is under the same parent company as Tim Hortons.

“I’ve been familiar with Tim Hortons ever since visiting Toronto years ago, and I really love the coffee. I think it will be the best coffee around,” Khutliwala said. “I’m very excited to introduce a new brand to Atlanta.”

Tim Hortons was founded in Canada in 1964 and has expanded to more than 5,200 locations around the world. Most of its locations are in Canada and the northern parts of the United States, but it recently announced locations in the Houston, Texas area as part of its expansion efforts.
