NEWNAN, Ga. — A 14-year-old girl was hospitalized Monday evening after police say she was struck in the head with a golf club during a physical altercation in Newnan.

The Newnan Police Department said officers responded to Ball Street around 6:39 p.m. after a 911 call reporting an assault with injuries.
The girl was taken to an Atlanta-area hospital for treatment.

Newnan police said its Criminal Investigation Unit was called to the scene and several arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
