Blood found after neighbors hear gunfire but police find empty home

UNION CITY, Ga. — SWAT units with the Union City Police Department were called to a home after reports of a possible shooting.

Officers say they received a call of shots fired at a home on Byrd Ave.

When officers arrived, they found “varying amounts” of blood near the front of the home.

SWAT units made it into the home to investigate and help any injured persons.

Channel 2 Action News has a reporter and photographer on the scene to gather new information on the mystery for Channel 2 Action News at 4:00 p.m.

Officers say they did not find anyone inside the home.

Witnesses report seeing several Union City police cars in the area.

The Union City police Department Criminal Investigations Division is now in charge of the scene.
