Rick Ross pays it back, buys lunch for South Fulton police officer

Rick Ross owns the biggest house in Georgia, is a Wingstop franchisee and in his spare time, a rapper and record executive.

Rick Ross is busy man, though he is often seen near his Fayetteville home. On Friday, he took care of a hungry South Fulton police officer about to get some lunch.

Ross saw Captain R. McClain about to pick up a sandwich at a Subway on Old National Highway, not far from his Fayetteville mansion, and decided, nope, the captain isn’t paying for that.

He picked up the cost of a sub and a cold drink, stopped and posed for a picture. Ross told McClain that no police officer will ever pay for their own lunch if he is nearby.

Ross, who was born William Leonard Roberts, II in Mississippi, was raised in Miami, Florida, and played football at Albany State University. He was a prison guard before getting his start in the music world. He’s been arrested several times in the past twenty years and in 2015 was arrested by Fayette County deputies for allegedly attacking a groundskeeper over money owed to him. Ross pleaded no contest to the aggravated assault charges he was facing for the incident, paid a $10,000 fine and was sentenced to time served in jail, which was roughly ten days.

The mansion Ross now owns near Fayetteville, it was formerly owned by Evander Holyfield. The boxing champ was forced to sell the 54,000 square foot home and surrounding property due to financial problems.
