Dwarf House releases new drawing of ‘historic patio’ as part of massive renovation

HAPEVILLE, Ga. — The Dwarf House in Hapeville is sharing some new renderings of what the renovated restaurant will look like once it is done.

The latest drawings show their 1946 patio that will be part of the restaurant once it is completed.

“It is perfectly positioned on the property, to show off the restaurant’s exact spot in 1946,” the restaurant said in a post on Facebook. “The original building’s blueprints were used to recreate the beloved counter and stools.”

The restaurant closed in May to undergo a massive renovation.

The original Hapeville Dwarf House is where Chick-Fil-A began 75 years ago. It still serves items from Truett Cathy’s original menu, including — believe it or not — hamburgers.

“Founded by Truett Cathy in 1946, the Hapeville Dwarf House (originally named the Dwarf Grill) is the birthplace of the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich,” Chick-Fil-A said on its website. “It was in this restaurant that Cathy first invented the boneless chicken sandwich and asked his customers to taste test it for him until he perfected the recipe in 1964.”
