Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell said the family is trying to figure out who initially posted images of their loved one in his final moments on social media. They want the pictures removed.
“I’m making this video on behalf of my cousin’s mother, my aunt and the rest of our family,” the cousin said on an Instagram video.
“We were just just coming from a place of, ‘Thank God, god is so good they spared you and they spared his daughter’s life,” Elicia Day said.
A family friend of 42-year-old Kariem said he was at the amusement park to enjoy the day with family and friends when this happened.
“We’re absolutely devastated by this loss. Any loss of a family member or friend is tragic, but to lose him in this manner this way it is beyond words can even express,” Day said.
