Search for missing woman moves out of state park

Missing woman Fort Yargo State Park The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said Erica Gibson, 21, was visiting Fort Yargo State Park and hasn't been seen since Wednesday night.

WINDER, Ga. — Police have stopped searching the grounds and water at Fort Yargo State Park for Erica Gibson, but they say they are still trying to find her.

Officers said they got information that 21-year-old Gibson left the park on her own Wednesday evening.

She was reported missing after she was last seen at Fort Yargo.

She is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 132 pounds. Police said she was last seen wearing blue jean shorts and a green and gray shirt.

Earlier, crews from several agencies searched the park by land and water.

Police said they are still following leads and want to make sure Gibson is safe.

Fort Yargo State Park will go back to normal operations at 6:30 p.m.
