Scattered storms in metro area, damaging wind gusts main threat in northeast Georgia

The Sunday forecast is hot and humid with scattered storms in the metro Atlanta area.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Eboni Deon says isolated strong and severe storms are are possible in northeast Georgia.

The main threat there are damaging wind gusts.

Deon said the heat and humidity are here to stay all week, with a chance for rain and storms each day.

High temperatures will be in the lower 90s but the feels like temperatures will be reaching triple digits.

Severe Weather Team 2 is also watching two areas in the Atlantic Ocean, for possible tropical storm development over the next seven days.
