CONYERS, Ga. — Authorities have released the identity of a man found dead near a major interstate interchange in Conyers.

Around 9 a.m., Conyers police said officers were conducting a death investigation near the exit ramp from Interstate 20 westbound to Highway 138.
Later Wednesday afternoon, Conyers police said a man was found at the Georgia Department of Transportation construction site.
According to Conyers police, the man has been identified as 68-year-old Jeffrey Brian Emery of Covington.

Officials said Emery was neither a construction worker nor associated with the GDOT project.
Investigators are working to determine what happened.
