“There was one gun on the scene that we can identify as the firearm that was fired,” deputies said.
The Rockdale County School District confirmed in a statement to Channel 2 Action News that a Heritage High School student was among the victims.
“Grief counselors have been on campus today and will continue to be available for all students, staff, and families as needed,” officials said. “Our thoughts and condolences go out to the student’s family and friends. At this time, we are unable to share or confirm any further information.”
A steady stream of neighbors came by the home Monday to offer their condolences.
It is unclear what led to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
