WHITE COUNTY, Ga. - White County Public Works will hold a Tire Amnesty Event on Oct. 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 675 Truelove Road in Cleveland.

Officials said the event gives the community a chance to properly dispose of unwanted tires and aims to reduce illegal dumping in White County.

According to officials, discarded tires can collect standing water, create breeding areas for mosquitoes and pose environmental and fire hazards.
Participants can bring up to six tires per vehicle. Tires with rims will not be accepted.
