ATLANTA — Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across north Georgia on Saturday, with some areas facing the risk of heavy rainfall and flash flooding.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Eboni Deon says periods of rain and storms could produce downpours strong enough to cause flooding.
A flash flood warning has been issued for parts of Cobb, Douglas, Carroll and Paulding counties until 1:15 p.m.
High temperatures will remain in the low to mid-80s.

Conditions improve on Sunday as much drier air moves into the region. Only an isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible. Temperatures will climb to around 90 degrees.
The warming trend continues into early next week. Monday is expected to be mainly dry, with afternoon highs reaching the lower to mid-90s. The hotter pattern is expected to continue through the first part of the week, bringing a return to late-summer heat across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
Drivers should avoid any roads covered in water.
