DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police are searching for the man who shot and killed his 16-year-old step son during an argument about a toddler.
Channel 2's Liz Artz spoke to the victim's sister, Fabiola Arias, who witnessed the shooting.
She said her stepfather, Cristino Ramos-Santos, shot her brother four times after the two got into argument over the children's 2-year-old baby brother.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were at the Estuary Apartment Homes on Evans Road.
Investigators said they found the body of a 16-year-old boy identified by family members as Andres Arias.
Police said the shooting took place in a parking lot.
The victim's sister said there was an argument and fight between her mom and stepdad.
The mother tried to stop him from taking their 2 year-old brother.
That's when Andres stepped in.
The stepfather then took out a gun and shot and killed him, his sister said.
"My brother was the hero my brother tried to protect my little brother from getting taken by that man who had a weapon was drunk," said Arias.
During the confrontation the 2-year-old boy fell to the ground.
Medics showed up and took the toddler to the hospital for minor injuries.
Arias doesn't know if her step dad fled the state or is hiding with friends and family.
"I want him to be in prison. I want him to rot in there," Arias said. "I want him to feel what I felt. I want him to never see his kids, because my brother is dead and I'm never going to see him again."
DeKalb County police are asking anyone who has seen a black Yukon with tag#PYI-24-88 or Cristino Ramos-Santos to call them immediately.
