Mayfield and her daughter were staying at her mother’s home on Lark Lane. Mayfield’s mother has been searching for her daughter and granddaughter for four days.

“I went to sleep and when I woke up she was gone so I haven’t seen her since then. 4:18 she did take her baby with her which is my granddaughter- I haven’t seen either one of them - heard from them - spoke to them or anything,” said Mayfield.

Mayfield’s mother says she has now received alarming text messages from an unknown number.

Mayfield said she hasn’t ruled out that her daughter could have run away, but she’s glad DeKalb police are taking Junia’s disappearance seriously.

“Anybody can wind up in a situation that they never thought they’d wind up in just because they thought it was Gonna be a normal day - so I don’t take nothing lightly,” said Mayfield.
