Police need help finding ‘person of interest’ in deadly Forest Park shooting

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Forest Park Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a “person of interest” in a shooting that left a man dead.

On May 27, police were called to the Breckenridge Apartments on Old Dixie Highway in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the ground next to his car with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

A GoFundMe page identified the victim as 28-year-old Delmario Benton. The page described him as a “loyal, passionate young man, who cared dearly for his family and those around him.”
