Police say fight, armed robbery leads to panic at Perimeter Mall

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities said a fight and a strong armed robbery at Perimeter Mall caused a panic for shoppers.

Dunwoody police told Channel 2 Action News they have officers at the scene investigating.

Authorities confirmed that there were no shots during the fight and robbery. Police said the suspects knew each other.

“Right now it is being investigated as a possible strong arm robbery but this is very preliminary,” according to Dunwoody Sgt. Robert Parsons.

Officers are talking to witnesses to figure out what happened.

Channel 2′s Michael Seiden said he saw officers searching a car outside the mall.

Witnesses said that people were running out of the mall after rumors of a shooting. Some shoppers said they even barricaded in stores inside the mall.
