According to police, it all happened just after 9 p.m. Saturday when they were called to the Walmart at 3245 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. Police say they were told by witnesses two Black men were seen shoplifting from the store and ran into the parking lot. The witnesses told police the two men jumped into a U-Haul van with Arizona tags (possibly AJ38446-as per police) and drove away.

Police said while leaving the parking lot and trying to turn onto Satellite Blvd, the U-Haul van hit a pedestrian, who was dragged into the street and died.

They’re asking anyone who may have some information that can help in the investigation to please call them at 770-945-8895.
