Man arrested for murder of missing Gwinnett County man

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have arrested a man in the murder of a missing man from Gwinnett County.

Ronald Williams, 54, was reported missing by his family on Nov. 28. Investigators determined that Williams’ phone and vehicle were last seen in Paulding County.

Williams’ vehicle was found Dec. 3 at an apartment complex in Cobb County. Investigators found evidence inside the car that some type of assault had occurred.

On Dec. 8, Paulding detectives and GBI agents searched the area that was the last known location of Williams’ cell phone. As a result of the search and other information, investigators secured a search warrant for a home on Valley Brook Drive in Dallas.

The home belongs to Wesley Richard Brock, 44, who was known to Williams. Investigators interviewed Brock, who confessed to agents that he shot and killed Williams and disposed of his body in the area of Williams Road in rural Paulding County.

Brock was escorted to the area, where he pointed out where Williams’ body was located. Williams’ remains were recovered and he was pronounced dead by the Paulding County coroner.

Brock has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, concealing the death of another and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
