1 arrested after 3 shot to death in robbery at Rockmart home, deputies say

PAUDLING COUNTY, Ga. — US Marshals are searching for a person connected to a robbery that ended with three people dead.

So far, deputies have arrested one man in the triple homicide.

Channel 2′s Chris Jose learned Monday that two of the victims are 30 years old and one is 42.

One week later, there is still crime tape at the home where it happened along Chesapeake Way.

“I know the family of this house and everything else,” a neighbor told Jose, asking not to be identified.

“It’s terrible. It’s heartbreaking,” neighbor Jason Milligan said.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, its deputies, and the US Marshals told Jose they are close to making an arrest but they’re not ready to release the suspect’s name and picture yet.

“Do we have a motive yet?” Jose asked Sgt. Ashley Henson with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.

“We’re trying to determine what led up to that robbery,” Henson said.

“Was it property? Was it drugs?” Jose asked Henson.

Deputies—along with the US Marshals — arrested one of the alleged killers last Thursday in Douglasville.

Carlos Favors-Battle is charged with several felonies, including three counts of malice murder.

“How urgent is this search right now for this other person?” Jose asked Henson.

“It’s pretty urgent that we get this other individual in custody,” Henson said.

Investigators say one of the victims is Cody Fuller.

A family member wrote on a GoFundMe page that “Cody would give his shirt off his back.” He was “only 30 years old and did not deserve this.”

Milligan was Fuller’s neighbor.

“It’s traumatic. You know I want to see everybody go to heaven,” Milligan said.

Deputies say the two other victims are Clinton Aiola and Davauntee Ramsay.

Records show Aiola owned the home where the killings took place.

“The people that did it need to be prosecuted just like anybody else,” the neighbor said.

Neighbors told Jose that they’re staying vigilant. Some are not only watching the neighborhood closely, but they also have their guns ready.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Tip Line at 770-443-3047 or send a message via the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office mobile app. All tipsters can remain anonymous.
