DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — An overturned truck turned into a hazmat situation, shutting down roads for hours just off I-285.
Lanes were reopened around 3:30 p.m.
DeKalb County Fire Rescue Crews had ordered an expanded evacuation area. The truck was carrying around 300 gallons of hydrogen peroxide, and it began to leak and corrode other materials being transported.
Fire Rescue personnel have contained the leaking material, they said.
A specialized cleanup crew has been dispatched, fire officials said. Wreckers will begin righting the truck once the hazardous material has been safely removed.
There are no reported injuries at this time, officials said.
The east and west ramps to Moreland are closed while the crash is being cleared.
Moreland Avenue northbound at Cedar Grove Road and southbound at Henrico Road are also blocked off.
