Missing Sandy Springs woman found safe in Atlanta

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — UPDATE: Sandy Springs police say a missing woman has been found safe in Atlanta. She was transported to the hospital for an examination and has been reunited with her family.

A Sandy Springs woman whose family says she has “diminished mental capacity” has been reported missing.

Janice Scarborough, 71, walked out of her home on Hightower Trail near Roswell Road on Tuesday.

Her family says she may be scared and confused. It’s possible she may not know who or where she is.

She was last seen wearing a a black and grey sweater.

Police say they are conducting a “very active search” for Scarborough involving several of their K9 units.

Anyone who sees Scarborough should call the Sandy Springs police.
