The section, which is about three-quarters of a mile long, is closing to allow construction crews to advance work on the State Route 400 Express Lanes Project.

Beginning Dec. 13, the flex lane will no longer operate as an additional travel lane during peak morning and evening travel hours. Contractors with the Georgia Department of Transportation will remove existing flex lane signage and road striping, then install a temporary concrete barrier wall.

Four northbound travel lanes will remain open on State Route 400 during the construction. Drivers heading to Exit 11 for Windward Parkway can access the exit using the right lanes, while through traffic should continue straight on the main roadway.
