Changes to I-285 could make your Monday morning commute look different

NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — After two major projects on I-285 in north Fulton County over the weekend, your Monday morning commute could be different than you’re used to.

A new westbound ramp for Peachtree-Dunwoody Road has opened up on Ga. 400 and I-285.

Many hope that with it opening up, they’ll see a difference in the amount of traffic in the area.

“Hopefully, eventually, it will decrease the amount of traffic when they finish this construction,” driver Aidan Schettino said.

Georgia Department of Transportation worked around the clock over the weekend to make sure these projects were ready to go before Monday morning.

Police shut down the highway around 7:15 a.m. Sunday morning to let crews remove the traffic cones and open up the new exit.
