NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Newton County Sheriff's Office said a man has drowned and a teen is missing on the Alcovy River in Newton County.
The incident happened at Factory Shoals Park Tuesday. The Sheriff's office said a man and a 14-year-old went under and didn't resurface.
The body of Antonio Perry, 38, was recovered Wednesday. Officials called off the search for the teen Wednesday afternoon because of weather, but plant to resume the search in at 8 a.m. Thursday.
Sheriff's Department spokesperson Caitlin Jett said Perry was the boyfriend of the teen's mother.
The teen’s identity has not been released.
