NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — A string of car break-ins and car thefts in Newton County have landed nine people behind bars.
The sheriff’s office says that between July 8 and July 21, there were several reports of vehicle-related crimes at the Arbor Lake apartments on Kirkland Road and in the surrounding area.

They say that during that time, at least 10 cars were damaged, five were stolen and one had something stolen out of it.
Investigators have arrested nine people, three of whom are juveniles, including:
- Jayden Morris-Love, 17
- Skyler Morris-Love, 18
- Ryan Roseberry, 19
- Duntarious Smith, 17
- Jamarvis Upton, 19
- Jimmy Upton, 17
The three juveniles’ names are not being released.
“I commend the men and women of the Newton County Sheriff’s Office for their dedication and teamwork throughout this investigation,” said Sheriff Ezell Brown. “Their efforts demonstrate our continued commitment to protecting our neighborhoods and ensuring those responsible for criminal activity are held accountable.”
All nine suspects are still being held in the Newton County Jail.
