‘Mind holding my glasses’: Family of man killed at Six Flags says he was excited to ride Goliath

The girl and Kariem were excited to ride Goliath for her 13th birthday, her father told Channel 2 Action News.

He said his daughter called him in a panic after the ride, telling him Kariem had passed out and that his restraint had snapped.

“She told me he fainted... he passed out,” her father told Channel 2’s Ashlyn Webb. “They went up and down, up and down, up and down. He fell out.”

The girl also told her father she did not know where her uncle was after he fell from the ride.

Her father then called Kariem’s wife, who was outside the Goliath ride. She did not know what happened at that point, but knew something was wrong.

Moments later, Kariem’s wife heard authorities say that one person had died. She immediately suspected it was her husband.

The new account comes as investigators look into Kariem’s death at Six Flags.
