Metro woman accused of stabbing, shooting man to death after ‘heated’ argument

A Clayton County woman is facing murder charges after police said she stabbed and shot a man to death during an argument in the bedroom.

Officers were called to a home on the 4000 block of Sweetbriar Lane on Oct. 9 in the afternoon in reference to a stabbing and shooting. When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Cameron Bell Palmer laying in the bedroom floor with gunshots and stab wounds to his body. He died from his injuries.

During the investigation, Clayton County police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Jalessia Brown, and that learned the two were involved in a heated argument. The fight led to the stabbing and shooting, investigators said.

Brown left the scene after the crime, police said.

Clayton County police and Clayton County sheriff’s office tracked Brown down on Oct. 10. Authorities said she later admitted to the murder.

Brown was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.
