During the investigation, Clayton County police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Jalessia Brown, and that learned the two were involved in a heated argument. The fight led to the stabbing and shooting, investigators said.

Brown left the scene after the crime, police said.

Clayton County police and Clayton County sheriff’s office tracked Brown down on Oct. 10. Authorities said she later admitted to the murder.

Brown was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.
