COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A 26-year-old Cartersville man died at the scene of a crash early Saturday morning after his vehicle struck a parked tractor-trailer on the side of I-75 north.
The crash happened at I-75 and the I-575 north interchange in Cobb County at about 3:23 a.m.

The Cobb County Police Department Special Operations S.T.E.P. (Selective Traffic Enforcement Program) Unit is investigating the deadly collision involving a 2024 Mazda CX-30 driven by Casey Price and a parked 2022 Freightliner tractor-trailer.
The collision occurred as Price was traveling northbound in the right lane of I-75.

At the same time, the tractor-trailer driven by Lee Roy Morris, 60, of Killeen, Texas, was parked in the gore separating the I-75 north and I-575 north travel lanes.
According to investigators, Price left his lane for unknown reasons and entered the gore area.
The front left side of the Mazda collided with the right rear portion of the flatbed trailer.
Price suffered unsurvivable injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Authorities confirmed that Price’s next of kin has been notified.
Morris was not injured in the incident.
