Starting annual salaries for a certified sheriff’s deputy will range from $47,361 to $75,778. The new starting pay for certified detention deputies is from $42,952 to $68,723.

The specific starting pay depends on education, years of experience, and specialized training incentives.

The Sheriff’s Office says pay increased an average of 17.26%.

The first 58 new hires will also receive a $7,000 sign-on bonus.

The Sheriff’s office says the salary increase should help retain experienced employees and attract new qualified personnel for open positions.

Those interested in the positions can apply on the Rockdale Sheriff’s Office website.
