SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — A large fire has been reported in South Fulton. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks]
Officials have confirmed the fire and crews are on the scene at a pallet manufacturing facility fire at 5550 Mallory Road.
Fairburn Fire units are currently assisting the City of South Fulton.
Channel 2 Action News video shows large plumes of smoke rising from the area. Several callers reported hearing loud booms and said they felt their homes shake.
“It’s extraordinary to see this much plumes of smoke from Clayton County to College Park,” said one nearby witness. “It’s very scary.”
It is not yet clear what caused the fire.
Officials have not said whether nearby residents need to take any precautions. More information is expected as crews work at the scene.
